Ya es fin de año y como corresponde a esta época, comienzan a salir los listados de lo mejor y peor de los últimos 12 meses. La revista NME no se quiso ausentar de esta ya tradición y publicó su propia lista con los 100 discos que más destacaron a lo largo de este 2018.
A pesar de que en varias listas la ganadora absoluta es Ariana Grande con "Sweetener". Para NME el primer lugar se lo lleva 1975 con "A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships". En el sitio escriben que "encapsuló la condición millennial a través de un registro que es tan diverso como un solo, unificado cuerpo de trabajo".
